--- The present study was realized on the experimental station IVITA - El Mantaro, to find a food share that increases the size of litter. Therefore 253 breeding guinea pigs were evaluated, divided in four treatments under a system of commercial breeding, it were fed with a food share prepared with local inputs. The treatments were: (T0), guinea pigs in individual boxes fed only with forage (Italian Ryegrass and Red clover); (T1), guinea pigs in individual boxes fed with forage and flour of barley; (T2), guinea pigs in individual boxes fed with forage and flour of bean; and (T3), guinea pigs in individual boxes fed with forage and flour of barley and of bean. They all initiated with their respective food share, on the seventh postpartum, and finished on the 21st postpartum, being weaned and mating on the 14th postpartum.Being submitted the variables size of litter (TC) and food consumption (digestible energy ED and crude protein PC) to an analysis of logistic regression, being found that the inclusion of flour of barley to a forage food share increased the proportion of guinea pigs with litter bigger than three whelp in 52 % and the consumption of top ED to 2.8Mcal/kg possesses a major effect that the consumption of PC bigger than 18 %, during this stage.
