Abstract: Se determinó los niveles de actividad de las enzimas antioxidantes: Superóxido dismutasa (SOD) y catalasa (CAT); y la concentración de malondialdehído (MDA) como un indicador de la peroxidación lipídica, en eritrocitos de 48 personas aparentemente sanas: 24 residentes de Nueva Cajamarca (Región San Martín) y 24 residentes de Lima.
En los sujetos de Nueva Cajamarca se encontró mayores niveles de actividad de las enzimas: catalasa (0,61 0,10 k CAT / g Hb) en relación con los de Lima (0,57 0,16 k CAT / g Hb), (p < 0,025) y superóxido dismutasa (2142,00 2685,07 U SOD / g Hb) que en los de Lima (1536,62 594,18 U SOD / g Hb), (p = NS) y mayor concentración de malondialdehído (11,55 4,68 ηmol MDA / g Hb) que los obtenidos en Lima (11,11 3,99 ηmol MDA / g Hb), (p = NS).
