The objectives of this study are: (1) To identify the relationship between the behavior pattern type A and type B with the styles and strategies of coping the stress, (2) To detect the differences in the styles and the strategies of coping the stress in people with behavior pattern type A and type B, in a sample consisting of 164 military members in activity, whose age are between 30 and 60 years old, working in Air Force base “Las Palmas” in different units found there, officers and subordinates possesing diferent marital status. The type of data collection was non probabilistic and with waiting criterium of variable reason. The instruments used were the Eysenck & Fulkers behavior questionnaire type A - Type B and Carver´s Style of coping. The statiscal tests used were the aritmetic mean, Ji Square, critical reason of correlation differences. Among the main results: (A) Styles of coping the stress and behavior pattern are not associated, i.e, with independents variables; (B) The type of behavior pattern type A is related to the strategies of coping the stress; (C) the behavior pattern type B is related to the social support search strategies of coping the stress because instrumental reasons and because emotional reasons. But this correlation is not significant; (D) A value Ji Square of 0,065 was found that for freedom cases is not significant. The results implications are discussed according to the pre-set objectives, the social reallity and the theorical aspects of it.
