-- This study was developed in order to assess the level of information given out to chronic ambulatory patients about their prescribed medicines. Patients who applied the military medical centers of Lima were asked. The level of information was assessed in 600 patients, through an instrument designed to investigate the factors which could influence on the pharmacological therapy: about the disease, drugs effects, indications, interactions and warnings. It was showed that the absence of medicines related-information represents one of the most important reasons why 51.8% of patients have poor level of information. In this way, this study emphasizes the need for improving patient education about their prescribed medicines, to increase their adherence.
