--- OBJECTIVE: To determine the influence of Emergency Obstetric Psychoprophylaxis in the attitude toward the labor of primigravid attended in the Department of Obstetrics Centre National Maternal Perinatal Institute during the period from March to May 2015. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Quasi-experimental study, transverse court, prospective which included 60 pregnant women in labor who met the criteria for inclusion and exclusion, which were divided into two groups: study group (n=30) to which he applied the guide Psicoprofilaxis Emergency Obstetric and control group (n=30), which will not be applied the guide. For the descriptive analysis, quantitative variables measures of central tendency (median) and measures of dispersion (standard deviation) were estimated; for qualitative variables were estimated absolute and relative frequencies (percentages). For the inferential analysis, was used Chi square test, which was significant when I had a p value <0.05. RESULTS: The attitudes of pregnant women that received emergency obstetric Psicoprofilaxis front those who received no were statistically significant during the dilation (p <0.001), birth (p <0.001) and delivery (p <0.001). Also, they primigravid that received emergency Psychoprophylaxis had a positive attitude (56.6%) during labor compared with patients who did not receive the interventionbecause none had a positive attitude, being statistically significant difference (p <0.001). CONCLUSIONS: The emergency obstetrical psycho affect significantly (p <0.001) positive attitude toward labor of primigravid attended in Service Center Obstetric Maternal Perinatal National Institute during the period March to May 2015.
