This study examines the impact of revenue recognition on accounts receivable management in a mobile fuel supply company. Critical issues related to inefficient accounts receivable management and the lack of internal control in the billing area were identified, affecting the financial and operational stability of the company. To address these problems, two solutions were proposed: the implementation of the COSO 2013 internal control framework and the design of a competency-based human talent management model. The proposal to implement the COSO 2013 framework focuses on strengthening internal controls, improving efficiency in billing and collection processes, and ensuring compliance with national and international regulations. The expected results include a significant improvement in the company's liquidity, transparency, and regulatory compliance. The initial investment is justified by the expectation of obtaining a positive Net Present Value (NPV) and a high Internal Rate of Return (IRR), indicating considerable profitability. On the other hand, the design of a competency-based human talent management model aims to evaluate and select qualified personnel for the critical areas of billing and collections, based on specific knowledge, skills, and attitudes. Although this option requires a lower initial investment, its NPV and IRR could be lower compared to the COSO alternative, making the latter a more favorable option. Both proposals are designed to promote an organizational culture oriented towards integrity and responsibility, contributing to the financial sustainability of Servosa Combustibles. However, the implementation of the COSO 2013 framework is expected to be the most viable and effective alternative to address the company's current challenges, ensuring a more robust and transparent financial management.
