The general objective of this professional sufficiency work is to improve the availability of yellow line equipment through the application of a model based on reliability analysis supported by FMEA techniques, Jack Knife diagram in a company in the construction sector. This work is divided into four chapters and are detailed below. In chapter I, the theoretical framework related to statistical distributions of reliability is developed, such as the presentation of success stories and the regulatory framework that covers the standards of the proposed model. Likewise, in chapter II, the presentation of the company, the problems related to low mechanical availability, the economic impact and the main causes that generate the current problems are made. Then, in chapter III, the development of the proposed model is carried out, it is made up of four phases: Hierarchization of critical equipment, Risk assessment of critical equipment, Most likely analysis of reliability and maintenance scheduling and control. Based on the results, a maintenance plan focused on improving mechanical availability is developed. Finally, in chapter IV, the economic evaluation and validation of the development proposal is carried out by the simulation of the ProModel software, to corroborate the viability of the proposal and demonstrate that the increase in mechanical availability is feasible. Finally, it is concluded that the application of the model based on reliability was able to increase availability from 80.3% to 92%.
