Mining is one of the main contributing activities to the Peruvian and global economy, thus causing greater production of raw materials, achieving great economic benefits for mining companies. In recent decades it has managed to experience growing development worldwide, since with this the need arose to apply various exploitation methods during the evaluation of the mining plan, in order to improve production and mineral extraction time. However, the main problem faced by the mining company located in northern Peru is the low mineral production. This is due to various factors, since when selecting the underground method, geotechnical parameters were not considered due to a lack of geological and geomechanical information. The objective of this research work is to evaluate the appropriate mining method by improving the Nicholas algorithm, where the applied technique is to implement geotechnical parameters such as “Groundwater” and “Depth of Deposit” in order to establish a mining selection process. optimal and consequently improve the productivity of the mining company. It should be noted that the design and verification of the effectiveness of this technique is based on a numerical study, which allows projecting the results in situ and, consequently, achieving an efficient proposal when selecting the optimal underground method and the subsequent design of the mine.
