Technological progress experienced by the IT industry has led companies to be in permanent change, either to improve their business processes or to align them with emerging technologies and, by doing so, these companies keep up a competitive advantage in the sector. This premise also applies to public sector needs, where institutions should be aligned with governability perspective in their corresponding administrations. Thus, the modernization approach in public management will strengthen the delivery of services to citizens and administrative efficiency, considering they are both some of the sector weaknesses. This is to be accomplished by relying onto Information and Communication Technologies (ITCs). Considering the previous stated, due to the increase of procedures and consequently delays, typing errors and lack of a comprehensive tool for decision making, arises the necessity to implement a Collaborative Web System for the Management of Diplomatic Procedures for Embassies. The system will improve the service delivery and follow-up, as well as the alignment to the digital government 2023-2025 of the institution, contributing in the compliance of the Institutional Strategic Plan. After implementing the web platform, a synergy was generated with the automated processes, allowing them to be more efficient. This improvement reduced non-productive times and significantly increased the satisfaction rate of users carrying out diplomatic procedures. In addition, the change aligned the organization with the objectives set out in Digital Government.
