The objective of this research is to verify the dynamic parameters of the lacustrine soil in Cerro de Pasco using the geophysical methods of Multichannel Analysis of Surface Waves (MASW) and Seismic Cone Penetration Test (SCPT). The main objective is to compare the methodologies, procedures and results of these tests to determine which of them best correlates with the characteristics of the existing soil. MASW and SCPT tests were carried out to obtain profiles of shear wave velocity (Vs) and other dynamic parameters such as shear modulus (G), elastic modulus (E), compressibility modulus (K) and Poisson's ratio (ν). The results showed significant differences in the Vs velocities obtained by both methods, which is attributed to the differences in the methodology and precision of each test. The velocity profiles indicated a greater precision of the SCPT in the identification of soil strata, especially in the lacustrine zone. The conclusions highlight that, although both methods are useful for soil characterization, the SCPT provides greater accuracy in the identification of the dynamic properties of the lacustrine soil. It is recommended to carry out complementary tests, such as diamond drilling and triaxial tests, to validate and improve the results obtained. Furthermore, it is crucial to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
