Currently, the Peruvian Navy procures food supplies through a bidding process where multiple suppliers compete. Each supplier's products undergo visual inspection by the staff of the food science laboratory, following Peruvian regulations set by INACAL. This ensures that the products meet the quality standards required for purchase and shipment. One product under scrutiny is the canary bean, a legume belonging to the species Phaseolus Vulgaris. The objective of this project is to develop a system for the quality control of canary beans based on image processing and artificial intelligence to increase the accuracy and reduce the time of the quality control process.
