The low prioritization of accessibility in public projects causes difficulties for the autonomous development of people with reduced mobility, generating delays in their activities and affecting their safety. Therefore, this research seeks to reduce accessibility barriers through a pedestrian infrastructure design proposal focused on people with reduced mobility in the San Pedro Oval of the Lurin district. To achieve this objective, the current situation and the needs of users with respect to the current infrastructure were analyzed by means of photographs and surveys. Likewise, the characteristics of the pedestrian infrastructure were evaluated by means of a checklist and Likert scale, taking criteria from national and international regulations, manuals and inclusive design guides, as well as the application of the 7 principles of universal design. As a result, it was determined that the main deficiencies refer to irregularities in sidewalks, unevenness and inadequate dimensions. Likewise, it was identified that the lack of vertical signage and the inadequate condition of the pedestrian infrastructure mainly affect users' perception of safety, while the poor condition of stops and sidewalks mainly affect their perception of comfort. The proposed design achieved 80% compliance with the accessible design criteria in all types of pedestrian infrastructure components evaluated and a rating of greater than 4, with respect to the application of the 7 principles of universal design, indicating that the principles are being adequately applied.
