The purpose of this research is to enhance demand forecasting to optimize the supply of particle board in a Lima-based importing company from 2021 to 2023. Demand planning is considered critical within the supply chain management strategy. The research addressed a critical logistical issue in the company: the shortage of particle board supply, leading to missed sales opportunities and decreased revenue. Using the “5 Whys“ technique, the study identified underlying issues, including deficiencies in demand forecasting and the absence of technological tools for predictive diagnostics. The research methodology employed was qualitative, utilizing semi-structured interviews with internal staff and an external expert, supplemented by a review of scientific literature to propose three potential solutions. After evaluating these alternatives, it was concluded that implementing Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) methodology alongside a web development connected to the company's Oracle Business ERP would be most beneficial. This combination would improve demand forecasting accuracy, facilitate interdepartmental coordination, and streamline the supply process efficiently.
