The purpose of this Professional Sufficiency Project is to evaluate the improvement in the control of liquid fuel shrinkage and its impact on the profitability of the company HM Señor de Muruhuay S.A.C. in order to propose a viable solution that guarantees the fulfillment of the long-term strategic planning. The research is structured in three chapters. The first chapter describes the company's context, the problematic situation and justification, and the research objectives. The second chapter explains the theoretical framework, through background information that supports the problematic situation and defines the key concepts, shrinkage control and profitability. Likewise, two alternative solutions that seek to increase profitability are proposed. In the third section, a comparative analysis of each proposed alternative is made and the viability, resources, impact and expected benefit of installing a telemetering system and liquid fuel controller are argued. This is an applied research with a qualitative approach, which consists of a case study that uses in-depth interviews as a data collection instrument. Finally, the research concludes that a good control of liquid fuel wastes will increase the profitability of the businesses in this area, because it will allow knowing the exact balance of inventories that exist in the subway tanks and a correct operational and administrative management to facilitate decision making.
