On a global scale, the preparation of food for cattle is positioned as a fundamental process within the agricultural supply chain. In Peru, a country with a diverse agricultural economy, the production and distribution of animal feed play a crucial role in the agricultural industry. After the pandemic crisis in 2020, this sector has been increasing in importance. However, according to INEI, it is estimated that up to 30% of animal feed is lost or wasted during the production and distribution process in Peru. This study focused on implementing Lean Manufacturing methodology to increase production efficiency in the blending department of a beef food company located in Lima, Peru. The investigation centered on the implementation of Lean tools such as 5S, process standardization, and Total Productive Maintenance (preventive and autonomous maintenance). To identify the initial problem, a diagnosis was carried out to understand the severity of the issue. Then, it was evaluated whether it was feasible to implement measures to improve productivity. Subsequently, a solution model was established to enable improvement and ensure sustainability. Finally, a pilot was conducted to validate the proposal made by the technical team, confirming its viability. The results showed an increase in key indicators. In the final audit, a 5.2-point increase was observed, rising from 4.6 to 9.8 out of 10, indicating a significant improvement in the order and cleanliness of the work area. Additionally, productivity in the mixing area manufacturing process increased from 19.94 kg/hr to 24 kg/hr, thereby enhancing efficiency.
