The boom of the construction industry in the Peruvian State has driven the creation of new companies with the aim of integrating into this sector and winning bidding projects. However, the high competitiveness poses a challenge for small and medium-sized companies seeking to optimise their operational and management capacity. The objective of this research is to improve the inefficiency in the inventory management of the company A&Z Arcos S.A.C. The methodology used includes a literature review, based on a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. In addition, interviews were conducted with the general manager of the company to obtain significant information about the problematic situation. As a result of the study, it was determined that overstocking and inventory breakage mainly affect the performance of the operations and logistics area, as well as the commercial and financial part. Furthermore, feasible and viable solutions were identified that are aligned with the company's strategic objectives, such as operational efficiency, financial growth and cost reduction. Given the issues, the implementation of a Warehouse Management System (WMS) has been proposed as the most viable and feasible solution. Therefore, this alternative has been chosen because it contributes to improving inventory management, increasing operational efficiency and competitiveness in the sector.
