According to Farbe (2020), the colors in daily products like medicines, cosmetics, food, and textiles are essential for identification and creating visual impact. These colors come from natural and synthetic sources, including organic and inorganic compounds. Examples of natural pigments include cochineal, annatto, achiote, and purple corn, processed to produce dyes used globally by different industries. The preference for natural products reflects a global trend towards reducing harmful chemicals for both the environment and health. The Center for Research in Economics and Global Business (CIEN, 2023) indicates that the production of natural colorants in the agro-industrial sector has grown significantly. India, the Netherlands, and China lead the market with shares of 12.5%, 8.2%, and 7.6%, respectively, while Peru has fallen five positions in the global market. However, specifically the company under study has decreased its market share by 37% and has increased its penalty payments for non-compliance with the delivery date of its orders. To solve the problem described, it has been decided to manage supply from a strategic planning approach, using systems such as JIT, MRP and all the corresponding inputs of the company, as well as solid demand analysis. In this way we will seek to improve supply planning, making raw material replacement times more effective. As the main result, after the implementation of the pilot plan, we managed to improve the global on time delivery indicator (OTD) by 9%.
