The study focuses on enhancing pedestrian accessibility in the vicinity of the Inca Garcilaso de la Vega Educational Institution in Huarmey. It proposes the development of a road design using Vissim software. Understanding current challenges in the area's road infrastructure is crucial, involving problem identification and data collection to depict the current situation. Subsequently, the proposed design will be modeled, prioritizing pedestrian access. This comprehensive approach seeks not only to identify areas for improvement in road infrastructure but also to provide specific recommendations for enhancing accessibility and comfort in the pedestrian environment around the school. Comparative analysis between the current situation and the proposed design will consider key indicators such as pedestrian travel time and the characteristics of road infrastructure elements. These quantified parameters are essential for evaluating the impact of the proposed design on the efficiency of pedestrian flow in the school's surrounding area. The achievements of this methodological approach will enable the identification of areas for improvement in road infrastructure and the proposal of specific solutions that promote a safe and accessible experience for pedestrians. The results could significantly contribute to technical decisions regarding urban design and road safety policies, ultimately aiming to improve the quality of life for the school community and residents in general. Subsequently, the modeling of the proposed road design will proceed, taking into account the specific needs of pedestrians in terms of accessibility and safety. Adjustments and calibrations will be made to the model to ensure its accuracy and validity in simulating traffic scenarios and pedestrian behavior. A difference in travel time with the proposed reduction of 26.78% in one route and 29.65% in another route with parameters in the proposed design geometry to achieve accessibility. Finally, it is confirmed that there are 03 accessibility routes for pedestrians heading to Inca Garcilaso school in the city of Huarmey.
