The objective of this Professional Proficiency Project (PPP) is to analyze and present 3 comprehensive solution alternatives to optimize the idle installed capacity of a Seafood Processing Plant products placed in Paita, Peru, by 2025. Using a qualitative methodology with a descriptive approach, the study analyzes the feedback from three employees regarding the challenges faced by the local fishing sector, aiming to identify and propose viable solutions to improve the operational and financial efficiency of the Paita Seafood Processing Company. The analysis focuses on evaluating various alternatives to mitigate the effects of fluctuating raw material availability. One proposed solution is the importation and processing of marine species from other countries, such as Pink Salmon (Oncorhynchus gorbuscha), a second alternative is the supply and processing of fish farming and aquaculture species such as trout and tilapia, and finally as third proposal is the processing of other species caught in Peruvian Sea such as Horse mackerel and Pacific Bonito. In these 3 alternatives, the facility infrastructure and machinery can be used to mitigate the idle capacity that usually occurs during months of low availability of the mahi-mahi species, thereby enhancing the continuity of operations and in consequence the company's revenue. A comparative analysis of the alternatives is presented, considering their operational and financial feasibility. Additionally, the implications for the company's functional areas, including commercial, production, logistics, and finance, are identified. The implementation of key performance indicators (KPIs) will enable monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the proposed solutions, ensuring continuous improvement in the management of installed capacity and the company's economic performance.
