A notable concern arises regarding machinery management, which has been identified as an area with significant deficiencies. Therefore, the adoption of technologies such as BIM 4D becomes essential in the era of digital construction (Medina, 2023). Data and recent reports reveal that these deficiencies have notably impacted the schedule during earthwork. In this study, a design proposal is implemented in a project to optimize machinery planning using BIM 4D tools, aiming to resolve previously identified conflicts and reduce time and costs. The selected project “IMPROVEMENT AND REFURBISHMENT OF THE MULTI-PURPOSE FACILITY IN THE COMMUNITY OF QUICHAS“ faces challenges in earthwork management, leading to delays and overruns. Following the development of the work plan, the results indicate that a total extension of 14 days in excavation items, originally scheduled for a total of 4 days, was avoided. This resulted in significant cost savings, avoiding a total of S/. 2,013.20 (80.76%), compared to the original amount of the three items, which amounted to S/. 2,492.79. It is concluded that optimization allows for the complete resolution of conflicts generated by the technical specifications, leading to a reduction in time and costs. It is worth noting that the results and potential savings could be multiplied if the proposal is applied to the entire project and not just to the earthwork stage.
