Following the accidents caused by soil erosion on the slopes along the Cuajone road, the main objective was to determine the ideal local agricultural cultivation to reduce surface erosion on the Cuajone road section most prone to landslides and erosion, between Villa Cuajone, Villa Botiflaca, and Garita de Mina Cuajone of SPCC. Additionally, three indicators were determined to measure the proposed solution to the problem under study. Firstly, the amount of filtered water indicates the infiltration rate passing through all soil layers of the trial. Secondly, the moisture content, which was conducted for the three different crops and the terrain in its natural state. Lastly, the force generated by explosions to analyze the viability of using geomats. The local crops chosen for this proposal were alfalfa, mint, and peppermint. The results showed that the sample with the least amount of filtered water was alfalfa with 250, 238, and 216 milliliters at 7, 30, and 90 days, respectively, indicating that they absorb more water compared to others. Likewise, the moisture content test shows and confirms that the sample with the lowest moisture content under extreme saturation conditions is the alfalfa sample with 12.82%, 9.11%, and 7.15% at 7, 30, and 90 days. Additionally, upon analyzing the results of the geophones, it can be stated that the force generated by the explosion does not affect the slopes of the Cuajone road; therefore, the implementation of geomats is not necessary.
