Introduction: This study focuses on analyzing the influence of Instagram on the digital activism of followers of the social movement “What color are your dead?” in young university students and graduates from 22 to 27 years of age from Metropolitan Lima. The aim is to understand if this platform can be a tool for motivating and influencing users' own opinions about the perspective they have about a current social movement. Methodology: A qualitative approach with a phenomenological design based on the interpretive paradigm was used, interviewing a number of 14 young people, university students and graduates, who have an interest in the topic being worked on. The sample was chosen by convenience and the technique used was summarized in semi-structured interviews, this being the basis for data collection. Results: The results demonstrate that there is an influence of the social network Instagram towards the opinion that users have about the social movement “What color are your dead?” due to the use of visual and emotional development that led to the creation of the photographs shown to the public. Discussion and conclusions: The study corroborates the importance of current movements seeking the implementation of having a social network like Instagram in their information dissemination process, seeking that these movements also present creative dissemination proposals in order to fully exploit visualization and user acquisition within this application.
