Análisis de la interacción de las comunidades digitales de streamers LGBTQ+ latinoamericanos en Twitch

Abstract

Twitch es una plataforma de transmisiones en vivo que alberga a una gran cantidad de comunidades digitales formadas a partir de la iniciativa de apoyo a un usuario que transmite cualquier tipo de contenido para el consumo de otros. Dentro de este espacio variado, están presentes los streamers LGBTQ+ latinoamericanos, quienes cuentan con sus propios fandoms compuestos por otros usuarios con los que interactúan en cada una de sus transmisiones. A partir del conocimiento de estos factores, se analizó la interacción que tienen las comunidades digitales en los canales de streamers LGBTQ+ de la plataforma Twitch. La investigación cualitativa aplicó la etnografía digital, con la que se realizaron ocho guías de observación participante a cuatro canales LGBTQ+ latinoamericanos. Estas categorizaron la interacción con datos de los canales de la muestra y la iniciativa de los streamers, moderadores y seguidores para realizar los intercambios entre ellos. Es así como se demostró la existencia de la interacción a través de elementos visuales, aportes monetarios, lenguaje, normas de conducta, expresión de opiniones y conocimientos de protocolos del canal. Por todo lo anteriormente mencionado, la investigación presenta los rasgos de la interacción que tienen los streamers LGBTQ+ latinoamericanos con sus comunidades digitales, desde la perspectiva de un usuario participante dentro de sus transmisiones.

Twitch is a live streaming platform that hosts many digital communities formed from the initiative to support a user who streams any type of content for the consumption of others. Within this varied space, Latin American LGBTQ+ streamers are present, who have their own fandoms composed of other users with whom they interact in each of their transmissions. Based on the knowledge of these factors, the interaction that digital communities have in the channels of LGBTQ+ streamers on the Twitch platform was analyzed. The qualitative research applied digital ethnography, with which eight participant observation guides were conducted to four Latin American LGBTQ+ channels. These categorized the interaction with data from the sample channels and the initiative of streamers, moderators and followers to carry out exchanges between them. This is how the existence of interaction was demonstrated through visual elements, monetary contributions, language, rules of conduct, expression of opinions and knowledge of channel protocols. For all the above mentioned, the research presents the features of the interaction that Latin American LGBTQ+ streamers have with their digital communities, from the perspective of a participating user within their streams.
