Objective: To know the factors associated with the functional movement of handball athletes of the national team. Methods: Analytical cross-sectional study developed in 36 handball athletes of the national team. The “Nine test screening battery“ (9 TSB) was used to evaluate functional movement. Results: The older the age (r=-0.30), with a current injury (PR=0.86) or in physical therapy (PR=0.87), the frequency of good functional movement was lower; while women (PR=1.15), athletes with 5 or more years of practice (PR=1.12), surgery older than 3 months (PR=1.05), greater resistance in abdominal muscles (PR=1.20) or spinal extensors (PR=1.04), had a higher frequency of functional movement. However, none was a factor associated with functional movement in indoor handball players of the national team. Conclusion: Age, sex, years of practice, current injury, surgery greater than 3 months, physical therapy, abdominal muscle strength and spinal extensors were not factors associated with functional movement in indoor handball players of the national team.
