Objective: To describe the eating experiences and behaviors acquired during the Covid-19 pandemic and nutritional literacy in adults aged 20 to 35 who attend gyms in metropolitan Lima from 2022-2023. Methodology: A phenomenological qualitative study was conducted with a sample of 32 participants, interviewed using semi-structured questions until information saturation was reached. Results: It was found that the sample used nutritionists, the internet, and nutritional labeling to obtain nutritional information, which was then processed through the substitution of foods for healthier options. Participants understood that the basic diet is composed of proteins, carbohydrates, and vegetables, and recognized chicken, vegetables, and fruits as healthy foods. Whereas foods high in fats, processed, and sugary should be avoided. On the other hand, information for making nutritional decisions was obtained from nutritional labeling, trainers, friends, and family. During the experiences of Covid-19, they had adequate finances which allowed them to continue financing food as in the pre-pandemic period. Additionally, it was observed that during celebrations, they tended to consume local and fast food, sodas, and homemade beverages, which influenced current eating behaviors where there was an increase in the consumption of homemade drinks and meals. Conclusions: The sociocultural environment impacted eating habits during the pandemic and even in current behaviors. Primarily, the internet provided them with nutritional information quickly, which generated a change of habits to adapt to healthy eating.
