The present study is based on the research, carried out by the authors Cabrera et al. (2023), called “A validation model to reduce non-contributory time based on Lean tools: Case of a construction company in Peru” which consisted of the following: Analysis and purpose of the research: The high rate of non-contributory time is currently present in the construction sector, greatly impacting the work's productivity. In Peru, the construction sector is one of the most important, since it greatly impacts our economy; However, it has some deficiencies that we cannot ignore. For this reason, it is viable to analyze a solution proposal that provides a reduction in non-productive times and therefore an increase in productivity. Design/Methodology: The Lean methodology is focused on the identification and elimination of activities that do not add value, thus unnecessarily consuming resources. That is why this model is based on using Lean tools, taking design proposals in the construction sector as a reference. The high rate of non-contributory time was identified as the main problem, so a solution model is proposed, focused on 3 fields of action, purchasing management, materials and maintenance, which is related to the 3 components Kanban, 5S and TPM. Results: The results confirmed that the tools used manage to reduce the non-contributory time of collaborators, improving productivity. This is achieved by reducing downtime due to a lack of materials and increasing the availability of machinery in L2S23, reaching an international standard by reducing TNC by 6%. Main conclusion: The implementation of the proposed model based on lean tools generates an increase in productivity through a decrease in non-contributory time.
