This study analyzes the perception of indigenous people about their representation used in the construction of a country brand, the strategy used by nations to improve their reputation and open doors for companies or international tourists. A qualitative methodology was adapted to analyze the "Exchanged" campaign of Marca Perú, to know the perception of its representation in the constructed narrative of the people who belong to the indigenous people of Taquile in Puno who work in the tourism sector. According to what has been reviewed, the indigenous representation in the media and, specifically in advertising, throughout history, has been loaded with stereotypes, which causes them to be treated exotically and in a distant way, aggravating their state of vulnerability.
