The production of steel structures is the main production in the Metalworking sector, this industry in Peru has been operating at 50%, according to the digital magazine of the Chamber of Commerce. Currently one of the threats that this sector faces is competition from Asian companies, this is because they enter our country with minimal or subsidized costs. It should be noted that in Peru there are no regulations that support national companies they must have a greater share in the market compared to foreign companies. According to the studies carried out, there are critical production limitations that are reflected in the delivery delay times of Metalworking projects. This could be counteracted through design strategies based on SMED, thus achieving better production quality and productivity. The production planning tool according to theoretical bases allows us to develop a production plan that reduces waste in manufacturing processes. Work standardization is the best-known method to perform a specific job, which in turn makes it the safest and most efficient method to comply with timely, orderly and quality deliveries. Finally, with these methodologies we have eliminated bottlenecks in the cutting and welding processes, increasing the level of on-time delivery of metal structures from 5% to 64.29%.
