Background During the pandemic COVID-19, there was a change in the population behavior related to the use of dietary supplements. In some countries there was an increase in the consumption for enhance the immunity, but in some others, it decreased because of the income loss. Aim Assess the knowledges, attitudes, and practices of the adults in the consumption of dietary supplements during the pandemic COVID-19 in Peru, the difference between the before and during the pandemic, and the consumer’s profile. Methods and materials Cross-sectional study, based on an online survey, with 380 peruvians >18 years old, without being pregnant nor being nursing mother with <6 months babies. The questionnaire was properly requested, and it included sociodemographic characteristics, knowledges, attitudes, and practices before and during the pandemic. It was analyzed in Stata 14.0. Results There wasn’t an adequate level of knowledge related to the regulation, effectiveness, security, and commercialization. More people approved this consumption for health and immunity, however a lot of them reported that the food was enough. Also, there was a decrease no significant in general, without difference in sex; nevertheless, it was important in the energy drinks usage (p=0.000) with more incidence in men. On the other hand, it had revealed an increase in the iron consumption (p=0.003). Conclusions Most of the surveyed people presented a positive attitude for the consumption of dietary supplements, despite that, they don’t have an adequate level of knowledge, and it doesn’t impact in the usage, probably because of the age presented.
