Modern architecture marked a significant milestone within 20th-century society due to its innovative contributions that guided architectural design from a functional, rational, and technically efficient perspective. Therefore, the legacy of the modern movement is an integral part of the cultural memory of every society and territory. However, in Lima, the collective housing buildings of the modern movement are in a state of regular conservation and, in most cases, undergoing deterioration. Given this scenario, there is a question about choosing an alternative - from an architectural standpoint - that allows preserving the legacy of the modern movement. In this sense, this research focuses on architectural recycling as an opportunity to enhance the value of modern movement collective housing buildings by developing design strategies based on theories such as architectural recycling, threshold space, inhabitation, and contemporary housing. This will enable the adaptation of the building to the current context of contemporary living.
