Reciclaje arquitectónico de edificios de vivienda colectiva del movimiento moderno. Estrategias de diseño basadas en la convergencia de los espacios umbrales y el habitar contemporáneo

Abstract

La arquitectura moderna marcó un hito importante dentro de la sociedad del siglo XX debido a sus aportes innovadores que orientaron el diseño arquitectónico desde un enfoque funcional, racional y eficiente a nivel técnico-espacial; por ello, la herencia del movimiento moderno forma parte de la memoria cultural de cada sociedad y territorio. Sin embargo, en Lima, las edificaciones de vivienda colectiva del movimiento moderno se encuentran en un estado de conservación regular y, en la mayoría de casos, en proceso de deterioro.

Ante este escenario, surge el cuestionamiento acerca de optar por alguna alternativa –desde el ámbito arquitectónico– que permita preservar el legado del movimiento moderno.

En ese sentido, la presente investigación se centra en el reciclaje de la arquitectura como una oportunidad para poner en valor las edificaciones de vivienda colectiva del movimiento moderno a partir del desarrollo de estrategias proyectuales basadas en teorías como el reciclaje arquitectónico, el espacio umbral, el habitar y la vivienda contemporánea; de manera que posibilite la adecuación del edificio al contexto actual del habitar contemporáneo.

Modern architecture marked a significant milestone within 20th-century society due to its innovative contributions that guided architectural design from a functional, rational, and technically efficient perspective. Therefore, the legacy of the modern movement is an integral part of the cultural memory of every society and territory. However, in Lima, the collective housing buildings of the modern movement are in a state of regular conservation and, in most cases, undergoing deterioration.

Given this scenario, there is a question about choosing an alternative - from an architectural standpoint - that allows preserving the legacy of the modern movement. In this sense, this research focuses on architectural recycling as an opportunity to enhance the value of modern movement collective housing buildings by developing design strategies based on theories such as architectural recycling, threshold space, inhabitation, and contemporary housing. This will enable the adaptation of the building to the current context of contemporary living.
