Introduction: As the world continues to face the COVID-19 pandemic, symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) have been a growing trend. Peru is not immune to this context, however, there is no scientific knowledge about the factors that are associated with or increase the suffering of PTSD in cleaning workers at the María Auxiliadora Hospital and Hipólito Unanue National Hospital in Lima. Objective: The present investigation seeks to determine the associated factors of PTSD symptoms in cleaning workers in hospitals in Lima in the context of the COVID-19, 2021 pandemic. Methodology: This study is observational, analytical and retrospective, with a descriptive and correlational level of research. The instruments used were ESG-R scale, PHQ 2 questionnaire, HARS questionnaire, MDQ questionnaire and ASSIST substance use questionnaire. These questionnaires were applied to a total population of 225 cleaning workers in 2 hospitals in Lima. Results: Of a total of 225 respondents, 167 (74,2%) cleaning workers were found to have symptoms of PTSD. Of these, the majority were women (87,7%), and 100% of workers with symptoms of anxiety and depression presented symptoms of post-traumatic stress. According to the type of exposure, the highest percentage was presented by witnesses by reference (86,2%). Conclusions: An association was found between female sex, depression symptoms, anxiety symptoms, witnessing by reference, and post-traumatic stress symptoms in hospital cleaning workers in Lima in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. in 2021. It is recommended to deploy rapid and continuous intervention strategies and guides in mental health to reduce the psychosocial impact of the COVID-19 virus and place greater emphasis on the most vulnerable.
