The mining industry has become the main driver of the global economic recovery following the effects of COVID-19 and, due to continued demand, mining is one of the main drivers of short-term growth. This is why the mining sector is constantly searching for new technologies that help it improve its processes, as is the case of Filtered Tailings Plants. In this sense, the construction sector has an important participation in the projects necessary for the mining sector. It is necessary to ensure that these projects meet their objectives, which means avoiding delays in the schedule, cost overruns, high staff turnover, delays in procurement, etc. Project control is an alternative to contain these problems and ensure the success of the project. Unfortunately, there are many errors made during project control that result in the project failing to meet its objectives, such as: Poor planning, not carrying out periodic follow-ups, not involving the entire team in the outcome of the project, absence of adequate communication, failure to carry out a prior risk analysis and limited visibility of the project. Under this problem, this thesis proposes the design of a procedure to improve the control of filtered tailings plant projects using Lean Construction tools in Peru. The procedure in question was proposed based on the analysis of 03 procedures applied in projects located in Peru and it was subsequently validated that the procedure helps to improve project control with the expert validation method.
