The present research analyses how Peruvian women perceive menstrual activism discourse in the femcare industry within the ‘Nosotras’ brand's ‘Historias de Útero’ campaign. To do this, a qualitative research approach was employed, involving semi-structured in-depth interviews with women aged 25 to 35 who belonged to online communities related to feminism, motherhood, sexuality, or activism. As a result, the interviewees mentioned that the use of menstrual activism discourse was positive within the category because it allowed for demystifying menstruation, empowering women, and reducing stigmas around their bodies by presenting more realistic situations related to menstruation and other aspects of it. However, the advertising actions of the brands might still not be sufficient in line with what the movement aims for. Additionally, some actions, considered very impactful and encouraging attitude change, could end up generating a negative perception for a certain group of people. Therefore, it is crucial for brands working with this type of advertising discourse to consider aspects such as the representation of menstruation, the representation of women, the use of real stories, and the use of visual resources that illustrate the reality of everything that menstruating entails.
