The present work of professional sufficiency titled “Proposal of improvement of efficiency in the inventory management for a brick company“ was elaborated to find the solution to the main objective of the study, to reduce the inventory turnover of a brick company that belongs to a very unstable, informal and with a lot of variability of demand in the national market. The development and support of this research was descriptive and field-based, using industrial engineering tools to determine the root cause of the problem, as well as data analysis by means of expert judgment, historical data, market research, projection and demand planning. It was determined that the company did not establish processes or indicators to support the purchasing, production and sales processes. As a result, there was an overstock of products with low demand and financial losses. Process improvement and production planning were established, as well as the introduction of an exhaustive control of inventory management indicators, in order to reduce the risks of inventory costs and/or losses. Also, the inclusion of highly trained personnel and an improvement of the organizational culture in order to raise the company's quality standards.
