The manufacturing sector is of vital importance, as it drives the growth and progress of a country by manufacturing a wide variety of essential products for multiple industrial sectors, both nationally and internationally, including mining and construction. In this sense, small and medium-sized metalworking companies seek to stand out and gain ground in the industrial world, and thus increase their level of competitiveness. Therefore, a necessary condition to remain in the market is to guarantee customer satisfaction by delivering a quality product on time. On average, the leading companies in the sector have a level of on-time delivery of around 95%. However, this case study is currently at a disadvantage with respect to this indicator, a situation that is replicated in companies with similar scenarios. Then, this project proposes a production design that increases the on-time delivery indicator in SMEs, through the application of Lean 5S, standard work and poka yoke tools with the SLP methodology. The solution focuses on reducing and optimizing production times, improving the flow of materials, organizing the work area, and reducing human error. Finally, the objective of the design is to encourage companies with a similar scenario to the one presented to implement these tools for the improvement of their processes, and thus, increase their level of productivity.
