Background: During the first wave of COVID-19, health programs were affected at a global and national level. The immunization program was one of the most impacted by the restriction measures generated by the government and also the decrease in the annual budget allocated to this program. This was reflected in the total vaccination rate in the population under 1 year old, which was 61% during that year. However, currently there has not been made an analytical study to find the factors associated with non-compliance of the vaccination schedule during the coronavirus pandemic. Objective: The objective of this project is to determine the factors associated with non-compliance of the vaccination schedule in children under 1 year of age, during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: This was a cross-sectional analytical study secondary to the database of the Demographic and Family Health Survey (ENDES) in 2020. The dependent variable chosen for this research was “non-compliance with the vaccination schedule” and for the independent variables we choose the ones shown in the Individual Survey, such as: Age of the child, age of the mother, current marital status of the mother, level of education of the mother, mother's native language, occupation of the mother, does she have health insurance, type of health insurance, child caregiver, region of the country, area of residence, and wealth index. For the multivariate analysis, a type of Poisson regression was performed. Results: When performing the multivariate analysis adjusted to the confounding variables, the association found was living in the jungle region of the country (PRa 1.09 95% CI 1.01-1.18 p=0.016) and the mother's independent work (PRa 1.09 95% CI 1-1.15 p= 0.026). Conclusions: It was found that more than 90% of children under 1 year of age during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic presented non-compliance with the vaccination schedule and the associated risk factors are: living in the jungle region and that the child's mother has an independent job.
