In the Peruvian context, the textile industry emerges as one of the fundamental pillars of the national economy. However, recent research has indicated that this sector is experiencing a level of stagnation, largely due to the lack of efficiency that afflicts a significant portion of the companies that comprise it. This lack of efficiency has a direct impact on the performance of manufacturing at the national level and, consequently, on the country's GDP. It should be noted that despite being made up of 83.2% MSMEs (micro, small and medium-sized companies), large companies represent 74% of the net sales of the textile sector. In this context, this case study raises the need to improve efficiency in the sewing process, making use of tools such as Work Standardization and Preventive Maintenance. For chapter 1, concepts such as project background, the organization's production processes and the tools that will be developed are mentioned. The second chapter delves into the description of the organization, identifies the main problem through diagnostic tools such as the VSM and the Line Balance, as well as the detailed analysis of the causes and their economic impact. The third chapter presents the solution proposal that is divided into three phases, providing a detailed explanation of the development of the tools mentioned above. In the fourth chapter, the results of the project are presented through a simulation using the Arena software. In addition, the economic, environmental, and social impact of the implementation is evaluated. The fifth chapter contains the conclusions and recommendations derived from the developed project. In summary, it was shown that through the use of these tools, efficiency increased from 55% to 75%, which represents an increase of 36.36% compared to the current efficiency of the case study.
