This research work studies the relationship between the commercial brand and the image of Peruvian soccer players as a cobranding strategy in a campaign to develop brand positioning in the market. Therefore, the objective of this research is to know the perception of the students of the last cycles of the Faculty of Psychology of UPC about the Peruvian soccer players chosen by a brand for the use of cobranding as an advertising tool. For this, the study examines the advertising spot “Veloz y Estable!“ by Claro, from a qualitative approach with a case study design, in which semi-structured interviews were conducted with 20 students between 20 and 30 years of age. The findings indicate that participants have a positive perception of the Claro brand, making it closer and more reliable compared to the competition. In addition, they considered that there is consistency in choosing Luis Advíncula to be the image of the campaign due to his speed and stability on the field. Likewise, participants point out that the ideal profile of the chosen soccer player should be disciplined, charismatic, respectful and aligned with the product. However, although there is a negative perception towards soccer players due to the media exposure of their private lives, the strategy of using cobranding with Peruvian soccer players in advertising campaigns allows to reinforce the image of both the brand and the athletes, offering insightful knowledge that can be very useful for other companies in different industries.
