The Peruvian healthcare system is designed to provide medical services to the country's population. The Peruvian healthcare system is a mixed system, which means it combines both public and private components to deliver healthcare services to citizens. It is overseen by the Ministry of Health (MINSA) and is primarily funded through taxes. It offers healthcare services through public hospitals and clinics throughout the country, with a focus on serving the most vulnerable and low-income population. The objective of this thesis is to construct a case study on continuous improvement in a hospital in Lima. To achieve this, a qualitative approach methodology is employed, based on a documentary review and an analysis of key elements of the problematic situation. The main results of the case study reveal the issue of low customer satisfaction at the hospital, stemming from non-standardized response times, inconclusive diagnoses, and communication failures. It underscores the need for improved communication between senior management and medical staff, which may hinder internal coordination and collaboration. The study concludes by highlighting the importance of effective communication in healthcare to enhance the quality of healthcare services in a hospital. It also emphasizes patient involvement and the empathy of medical staff as critical factors for patient satisfaction and the quality of care. Recommendations are proposed, such as establishing effective communication channels, developing leadership training programs, considering the implementation of virtual platforms, and continuously monitoring and evaluating the proposed solutions.
