Introduction: Dental malocclusion is a pathology characterized by abnormal alignment of occlusal surfaces. The continuous growth, characteristic of rabbit dentition, makes them susceptible to developing this pathology. The objective of this study is to analyze the frequency of dental malocclusion in rabbits in association with their diet in Lima, Peru, during 2021-2022. Materials and Methods: This is a retrospective descriptive observational study with a cross-sectional design. A review of 308 medical records of rabbits treated from May 2021 to May 2022 at a private veterinary clinic in Lima, Peru was conducted. The chi-square test was used to determine the association between variables and the diagnosis of dental malocclusion. Crude Prevalence Ratios (PRc) and Adjusted Prevalence Ratios (PRa) were calculated using the generalized linear model from the Poisson family. A confidence level of 95% (p = 0.05) was employed. Results: A frequency of dental malocclusion of 24.4% was determined. It was found that there was an association between sex, age, and diet with dental malocclusion. Being a senior was significantly associated with dental malocclusion, with a PRa of 1.94 (95% CI: 0.25-0.54; p = 0.017). Being a male was significantly associated with dental malocclusion, with a PRa of 1.80 (95% CI: 0.25-0.54; p = 0.019). Hay was significantly associated with dental malocclusion, with a PRa of 0.37 (95% CI: 0.25-0.54; p < 0.001).
