The purpose of this work is to demonstrate the increase in efficiency in the execution of gas supply installation projects through the application of Lean Project tools and the PMBOK bases. The services in the company under study represent 43.34% of the billing, which are executed in the form of projects. Currently, the efficiency of the projects is 78.11%. In the sector, this value is classified as regular, and the goal is to exceed 90%. Also, current efficiency shows that planned time and cost are not being achieved, so it generates a negative impact on the profitability of the because represent 6.3% of the billing. The main root causes of the problem are: an increase in unplanned activities, delays in requests for the purchase of imported materials and requests for high turnover materials for projects. The standardisation of Project Development Process based on the principles of Lean Project and PMBOK guidelines complemented by an operational contingency plan improves the flow and avoids deviations, thus reducing the costs of unplanned activities. Another Lean tool, Just in Time, is also applied to supply imported materials when needed. In case of high turnover materials, the fundamentals of the continuous review system are used, leading to minimisation of extra expenses, and waiting for the need of the material.
