The present Professional Sufficiency Work focuses on optimizing the operational processes of a foundry company in Peru, with a special emphasis on reducing defects through the application of Statistical Process Control (SPC). The effectiveness of this approach was demonstrated throughout the study. First, data related to the foundry process and its history of non-conformities were collected. Subsequently, SPC techniques were applied to monitor and control the process. The results were validated through simulations, confirming that a significant reduction in the number of non-conformities was achievable. This improvement translated into a decrease in defective pieces, accompanied by additional benefits that included a reduction in reprocessing costs and a notable enhancement in product quality. The implementation of SPC facilitated early issue detection, leading to increased efficiency and customer satisfaction. In conclusion, this study supports the effectiveness of implementing Statistical Process Control in the Lima, Peru foundry company for improving operational processes, resulting in a substantial reduction in non-conformities and positive outcomes in terms of quality and production efficiency.
