Background: Burnout Syndrome (BS) is a state of physical and mental exhaustion related to work or care activities. It has a high incidence and prevalence in health professionals. It has been seen that stressful events related to the outbreak of an infectious disease have an impact on mental health. The work overload that COVID-19 brought with it can create a predisposition to suffer SB. Objective: Identify the factors associated with Burnout Syndrome in doctors who work at the Antonio Lorena Hospital in the city of Cusco 2021. Methods: The population consisted of 218 doctors. The Maslach Burnout Inventory instrument was used to measure SB and a Data Collection Form to know the associated factors. The univariate analysis evaluated measures of absolute and relative frequencies. The bivariate analysis was performed with the Chi Square test, p<0.05 was considered significant and the established confidence level was 95%. The log binomial regression model was used for crude and adjusted multivariate analysis. Results: 15.14% of the population presented BS. The bivariate analysis demonstrated an association between SB and the variables: Working in a Covid Area and Greater Workload. The crude and adjusted multivariate analysis were carried out. Obtaining during the latter, a PR = 2.43 for the variable Greater workload, which demonstrated a statistically significant association with SB. Conclusions: The variable greater workload is associated with the presence of SB in the medical staff of the Antonio Lorena Hospital in Cusco.
