There are countless small and medium-sized companies scattered throughout the world that have certain occupational and financial limits. In turn, these contribute in an important way to the economy of each country, which is why their existence is of vital support. Within the main sectors that make up these so-called SMEs are the metal-mechanical ones that, due to their working conditions and method, provide resources of vital importance to the population. One of the main problems faced by these manufacturers is the production of defective parts in their production lines that greatly impact their monthly or annual billing. For this reason, this research tries to propose an innovative solution attacking the aforementioned problem. This, using lean philosophy and tools that help counteract this problem. This study seeks to implement tools such as 5S, Poka-Yoke and TPM, in order to reduce the rate of defective production in the hinge line of a Peruvian metalworking SME. With this, reducing the percentages related to technical gaps and economic impacts that may occur during the process.
