The work presents an SME company, dedicated to the mechanical metal sector, specifically the construction of metal structures. The company has a fundamental problem in delivering completed projects on time, causing extra costs due to penalties, reprocessing, and a decline in the company's image, all caused by a lack of planning in the distribution of work areas. poor quality control in all manufacturing processes, as well as the poor distribution of workstations and the number of personnel required. Everything prevents the company from moving towards a business niche with a higher budget. To improve the production situation, the tools of “Systematic Layout Planning” (S.L.P.), Line Balancing and Standard Work are proposed. After analyzing the collected data and performing the simulation by the “arena” software and POM-QM version 5.2, an improvement was obtained in the reduction of unnecessary movements of 42% and an increase of 15% in line balancing efficiency. On the other hand, the economic projection from 2024 to 2027 gave us positive results, which had a cost-benefit of 1.50 greater than 1 in the expected scenario. Likewise, an economic NPV of S/. 109,814.45, an TIR of 34% higher than the COK found of 11.45% and with a capital recovery of 19 months. Therefore, we conclude that the study is viable for its application.
