The present work aims to measure the technical efficiency of 6 direct docking port terminals in Peru. This efficiency is measured based on a stochastic frontier that includes an inefficiency variable composed of two variables that help counteract this inefficiency; and these variables are the bulk cargo loading rate and the port connectivity index. These variables have an empirical relationship with a negative effect; that is, the higher the bulk cargo loading rate and the higher the port connectivity index, the lower the inefficiency in the analyzed ports. Next, with the 6 port terminals observed during the period 2010-2022, production data at the port level with their respective production factors were obtained. The research results show that from the first place to the sixth place, we have the ports TNM Callao, TP Salaverry, TP Matarani, TP General San Martin, TP Paita, and TP Ilo respectively. Finally, it is found that the variable occupation index, which is a physical indicator variable, helps explain the technical efficiency found with a random effects model.
