The casino industry in Peru in recent decades has joined the constant growth offered by technology, gambling and video games worldwide. In the same way that it has positioned itself as an important step in the current economy, mainly due to the fact that it is one of the sectors with the highest formalization rate and the one that is at the forefront in terms of digital transformation. Within the context described, the company has processes that are of a strategic, missionary and support nature, and within this last group, the purchasing process is one of those that provides important support for the performance of services, and it is in which there are problems related to the non-compliance of the established deadlines for the attention of the orders and cost overruns due to the change of suppliers for the fulfillment of the requested service, due to this, the decision was made to analyze this problem; For this, the analysis and approach of the improvement proposal was carried out using the Lean Six Sigma methodology, and within the tools it offers, the DMAIC methodology and Value Stream Mapping were used for the diagnosis and approach of the proposal of improvement. With the research work, it was possible to determine the root causes of the problem, analyze them and achieve a reduction in purchase cost overruns, reaching a rate of 5%, the initial rate being 10% of the total amount of purchases made.
