In the Peruvian plastic sector, the OTIF index is crucial for competitiveness and efficiency. Machine downtimes pose a challenge, impacting the ability to meet planned orders. Therefore, planned, autonomous, and reliability-based maintenance management is crucial to minimize interruptions and achieve success in timely and quantity-based deliveries. The purpose of this professional proficiency work was to implement RCM and TPM techniques to increase the OTIF index in the studied company, which has a technical gap of 16.5% compared to the sector. The analysis revealed that the main cause of the low OTIF index in the company is unplanned machine downtimes, accounting for 82.4%. Root causes include corrective maintenance due to electrical and mechanical failures at 35.6%, non-compliance with the lubrication program at 25.9%, and errors in equipment calibration and adjustment at 20.9%. In conclusion, the implementation of RCM was effective in reducing downtime due to corrective maintenance by 62.8%. Furthermore, the application of the autonomous and planned maintenance pillars of TPM contributed to reducing downtime due to non-compliance with the lubrication program by 57.7% and downtime due to errors in calibration and adjustment by 64.6%. This resulted in an increase in the OTIF index from 76.2% to 87.9%.
