Currently, metalworking companies in Peru have the main problem of achieving their production plan established by the commercial area to satisfy the demands of their clients. The main objective of this case study is to implement an improvement proposal to increase the plant efficiency of a company in the metalworking sector through the Process Engineering methodology. 3 main tools of this methodology will be taken, which are the study of methods, the systematic distribution of the design and Kanban. With the study of methods it is intended to standardize the company's manufacturing process, then with the SLP it will be possible to optimize the plant distribution and with it the flow of material throughout the manufacturing plant and finally with the Kanban there will be a better record of information for each workstation. This implementation managed to increase plant efficiency from 80.2% to 90.8%. This increase was achieved due to improvements in the process of assembling the columns of the medium-sized structures, which are the structures that represent the greatest economic impact for the company. A time of 41.3 hours to manufacture a unit of columns in the assembly process went from a time of 37.4 hours per unit. This reduction of 3.9 hours in manufacturing time not only impacted the company financially, but also resulted in non-economic improvements that benefited the company's staff.
