This thesis work seeks to find a correlation between the number of blows of the light dynamic penetration tests and the standard penetration test, to find the friction angle in compacted sandy soils in the city of Chancay, in order to reduce costs and time for decision making in projects within the city. A compilation of existing information from tests carried out with the help of the LabGeo laboratory in the city of Chancay was carried out to find the proposed correlations. This work shows the procedure of seven different points located within the city of Chancay to perform the tests in the laboratory, as well as tests performed in the field, resulting in the main properties of the soil: angle of internal friction, cohesion and SUCS classification. Likewise, statistical methods will be used to find a correlation between the results of the number of blows of the DPL and SPT tests. The correlations obtained are valid for SP type sandy soils and with maximum depths of five meters within the city of Chancay.
